‘To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
What a beautiful statement. It’s actually one that I’ve tried to live by for the majority of my life. Being you, rising above, overcoming the odds, I think we all strive for this in some way.
In the spirit of an “About Me” page, I guess I should start with a more basic introduction than that. My name is Lauren and I’m 31 years old. I live Pennsylvania with my husband John, and two sons, Grayson and Isaiah.
John and I found out we were expecting in February of 2014, which came as a total surprise. Up until this point, I had struggled with hypothalamic amenorrhea on top of being diagnosed with an IBD (inflammatory bowel disease). My health bill hasn’t always been clean, but I’ve found that through my negative experiences, I was able to turn them into a positive offering of hope for others. I now strive to educate others through my own familiarities with certain conditions and how I was able to overcome.
As a former runner, I began my fitness career seven years ago when I began teaching group fitness classes at my local gym. I fell in love with teaching cycle, bootcamps, TRX and other forms of workouts on a daily basis. From there, I ventured on to obtain my personal training certification through ISMA/AAAI and have been educating myself ever since on performing safely and effectively in the fitness world.
My ultimate goal for myself and for my clients is to help them overcome any obstacles that may be hindering them from living out their best possible life. I aim to inspire, motivate and educate others on what it means to live a healthy life for life. I want my clients to feel confident in knowing their bodies and what it means to make mindful decisions when it comes to their nutrition and fitness.
To me, being healthy and happy go hand-in-hand. When I was unhealthy, I was unhappy. It affected every single aspect of my life and it wasn’t until I realized that the only person that could control both of these influences was me and me alone.
I would be honored to walk alongside your own journey and give you the tools you need to reach your fitness and nutrition goals. Ultimately, my desire is to help you reach health freedom! Once you’ve reached that point of feeling utterly confident in your own body, there is absolutely no going back.
