Hello friends and happy Friday!
With the weekend on the horizon as well as the promise of a brand new addition to our family, we are in a state of limbo these days. Honestly, every day is a guessing game of “is today the day?” We really don’t make any plans and try to stay close to home just in case.
Fortunately, my mom is flying in on Monday to be with me and I couldn’t be happier. It’s been so great to have her as a fantastic resource but only being able to talk to her over the phone has been tough. Now I’ll have my own personal nurse who will help me get through these last days and hopefully the actual labor part.
At my last appointment this week, the doctor said I am “on the Launchpad of labor,” which I’m hoping means things could start anytime. I’ve been having a lot of discomfort, pain, and irregular contractions so I feel like my body is getting ready, but no one can really tell for sure. I was 1.5 cm dilated and 80% effaced on Wednesday so here’s hoping things pick up over the weekend.
But enough baby talk for now because I’m sure I will have so much more to share in that department shortly. For now, it’s confession time!
I’ve been in quite the cooking mood this past week. Chalk it up as “nesting” but I’ve managed to make a few delicious meals that produced a good amount of delicious leftovers to enjoy for the majority of the week, one of them being this Cheesy Baked Spaghetti Squash. I’m telling you guys, make this! John loved it so much he requested it to be in our regular rotation, and this was coming from a skeptic when I said the word “squash” for dinner.

I can’t wait to get back into non-maternity clothes again. I am uncomfortably outgrowing my maternity clothes now, which has resulted in mostly wearing John’s t-shirts. Comfortable sure, but not very attractive. I’ve reached the point of having very little motivation to get dressed most days and the thought of skinny jeans, leggings, and boots are such a distant memory. I haven’t even looked at my pre-pregnancy clothes in months now so I feel like it will be a whole new wardrobe when I actually can dig into them.
Like so many of you, I’ve fallen in love with Trader Joe’s version of Cashew Butter. I picked up a jar two weeks ago and between John and I, it’s nearly gone. Move over almond butter, CB&J is the new AB&J!
I pre-ordered the new iPhone 6S and I seriously cannot wait until it arrives. I’ve been living with the 4S for a few years now and I am well overdue on an upgrade. For once in my life, I am actually going to be current with the latest release (I’m usually ten steps behind). I know some of you may not be iPhone fans, but I’m a true Apple fan through and through and anxiously waiting for that baby to arrive.
That’s all I have for today. Enjoy your weekend everyone and hopefully I’ll be updating you with some exciting soon very soon!
